ABOUT ICLAM

The Indian College of Laboratory Animal Medicine is established in June 2020 under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975) for certifying the veterinarians in the field of laboratory animal medicine in India. The establishment of ICLAM specialty board certification is aimed to promote the advances in laboratory animal medicine through dissemination of knowledge to the laboratory animal veterinarians by enhancing the competency and skill sets, harmonisation of practices and standards of training on various laboratory animal species. The ICLAM is envisaged as a non-profit scientific organisation entitled to award Diplomate to the veterinarians after successful completion of board examination. The ICLAM is officially supported by the Laboratory Animal Scientists’ Association (LASA) India and collaborating with other international organisations in this field.

The International Association of Colleges of Laboratory Animal Medicine (IACLAM) evaluated the program for a couple of years and unanimously accepted ICLAM as Full Membership during December 2020. With the full membership of IACLAM, the ICLAM has officially joined the conglomerate such as the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM), the European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ECLAM), the Japanese College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (JCLAM) and the Korean College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (KCLAM)
